Client's Challenge
The new 1,200 T/D chemical-grade methanol facility would double Alberta Gas Chemicals’ methanol production capability at Medicine Hat.
It included the process operations of natural gas stream reforming, compression, synthesis, and distillation.

Solution
Fluor’s Canada office in Calgary completed the engineering with a task force that peaked at over 200 engineers and technical specialists.
The Fluor project management team oversaw construction that was performed by both Fluor direct-hire labour and by 30 subcontractors.
Fluor’s assignment also called for development of utility and offsite facilities and integration of the new plant with existing facility.
